Repairs, maintenance, and renovation
The Lasallian Foundation is pleased to report that a major renovation of the building on the old campus of La Salle Girls’ High School, Faisalabad was undertaken in late 2025 and early 2026. Although registered as a girls’ high school, the school caters for nursery and primary school students, and male students at high school level are accommodated on the old campus as Pakistani educational regulations require separate learning spaces for boys and girls at high school level.
The renovation project was multi-faceted.The stairs leading to the upper floor classrooms were the biggest source of concern during the renovations. As the renovations proceeded, it became apparent that demolition of the stairs would be necessary and replaced by a wider and structurally-sound staircase. The wider verandahs required increased reinforcement with concrete pillars. The entire building was lifted to avoid on-going moisture issues which rise up from the ground.
New aluminium-framed windows were a welcomed addition to the classrooms. Stairs were replaced and painted, along with corridors, floors and doors. Electrical equipment was updated and concrete verandahs were resurfaced to offer safe walking paths for staff and students.
The 216 students based on the campus were delighted with the improvements to their learning environment. The images supplied below and the project completion report shared with the Lasallian Foundation display a clear message about the commitment to improving educational facilities for the most vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
A total of AUD 46,509 was spent to complete these significant repairs. The Lasallian Foundation thanks St Bede’s College, Mentone, De La Salle Catholic College, Revesby Heights, and the Jireh Endowment for funding this project. The project is not completely finished as some further modifications and the installation of a water filtration plant will see the project fully completed during the later part of 2026.
