Holy Spirit College, Lakemba

Holy Spirit College is a diocesan co-educational secondary school located in the inner-west suburb of Lakemba. The College was founded in 1999 following the amalgamation of St John’s College (a Lasallian school for Year 7-10 boys) and Mackillop College (Years 7-10 girls). There are about 950 students in Years 7-12 attending the College.

Students at the College contributed $6,350 to the Lasallian Foundation in 2020 for projects at De La Salle Girls’ High School, Sant Singh Wala, near Faisalabad, Pakistan. The recipient school educates students, both Muslim and Christian, from poor families who live in the neighbourhood of the school. In 2021 the college community raised over $5000, the Lasallian Foundation sincerely thanks staff, parents and students for donating so generously given current challenges. Phil Scollard, principal wrote in the college newsletter, “I was delighted at the end of the day to know that the collective efforts of the community raised in excess of $,5,000 for this very needy school on the other side of the world but a part of the Lasallian family the same as we are at Holy Spirit.”
