A Big Thank You!
The Lasallian Foundation extends its sincere thanks to the numerous individuals and Brothers’ communities who generously donated just over $24,000 to the End of Financial Year Appeal. This is a great outcome for the Appeal which had been aiming for $28,600 to fully complete the project.
The funds raised will enable La Salle Technical Secondary School to furnish and equip the eight new classrooms which have been recently completed. Teachers and students are expected to move into the new facilities during the coming weeks.
Not only do the donations enable the purchase of furniture and equipment, but the donations also show support for, and solidarity with, the staff and students at a school which has had a history of reaching out to the marginalised youth of Port Moresby.
There are still many needs to be met at the school – a replacement truck to enable teachers to get to and from the school, replacement of very old computers, additional toilets for the increased roll and kitchen equipment for use by the Breakfast Club – to name but some of the school’s many needs. Donations to the Lasallian Foundation towards meeting any or all of these needs are always welcomed.
